Job Title: Medsurg Float, Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Rochester, NY

Blended Rate: $2800/wk

Shift: 3x12s - 36hrs - D/E/N Rotating and straight nights available

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Medsurg Float RN to join our healthcare team in Rochester, NY. As a Float Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to patients in a variety of medical-surgical units, adapting to different clinical settings and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Your expertise and flexibility will support patient care delivery where it is needed most.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations across multiple Medsurg units.
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Administer medications, treatments, and perform diagnostic tests as ordered.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, discharge plans, and post-hospital care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation within electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Adapt quickly to new settings and unit protocols as needed.

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Current RN license in the state of New York
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medsurg experience (float experience preferred)
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work in various units and adapt to changing patient needs
• Proficiency with EMR systems and charting
• Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends
• Reliable transportation for floating between facilities
