Anne Arundel Dermatology owns and operates several dermatology clinics within the Knoxville region including Dermatology Associates of Knoxville (dermaknox.com/), Knoxville Dermatology Group (knoxderm.com) and East TN Dermatology (easttndermatology.com/). Knoxville Dermatology Group (KDG) is one of the largest groups of board certified dermatologists in Tennessee. All of our physicians are board-certified with extensive dermatology experience. With thirteen providers between two locations, West Knoxville & Sevierville, we are able to treat our patients for all of their dermatology needs.
Knoxville Dermatology Group is looking for a Medical Assistant for our triage team. This position supports several of our providers with administrative aspects of the back office including scheduling of procedures, reviewing of pathology lab results and patient education.
Triage Medical Assistant Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Timely follow-up and response to patient questions, results and inbox tasks
- Prepare documents and notes for patients and physicians
- Provide clinical support by following up on requests from providers
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism and compassion in sensitive discussion
- Scheduling of surgeries and/or procedures and educating the patient on what to expect
- Notifying patients of pathology lab testing results and delivery of follow up instruction
- Patient education regarding medications
- Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
Experience & Education:
- At least 1 year of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Surgical Scheduling Coordinator or other closely related experience in a health care setting (required)
- Completion of a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant OR bachelor’s degree program in a pre-med or pre-physician assistant track (strongly preferred)
- An ability to work independently, excellent communications skills, organizational skills and flexibility required
- Professionalism and strong customer service skills is a must
