Truck Driver

R CHAHAL TRANSPORT LIMITED is currently seeking reliable and dedicated multiple Truck Drivers to join the team in the Waikato region. We are looking for two drivers with Class-5 Truck License and one driver with Class-1 Driver’s License. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, timely, and efficient transport services while maintaining professional standards at all times.

This role involves travel within Waikato and nearby regions. All authorised travel and fuel costs will be covered by the employer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and drive the assigned truck safely and in accordance with all road transport regulations.
• Conduct pre-start and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical or safety issues and perform routine preventative checks.
• Collect, transport, and deliver goods in line with scheduled timeframes and company instructions.
• Verify load accuracy and ensure proper load restraint and weight distribution.
• Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery deadlines.
• Comply with all applicable transport laws, including fatigue management, size and weight limits, and designated route requirements.
• Complete logbooks, delivery dockets, and related documentation accurately and on time.
• Safely manoeuvre vehicles into loading and unloading positions.
• Maintain communication with dispatch regarding delivery progress or delays.
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, accidents, or traffic violations promptly.
• Adhere to all company health and safety policies and safe work practices at all times.

Work hours and pay range

- A minimum of 30 hours per week are guaranteed

- Will be paid between $28 - $35 per hour.

Other Requirements

• Relevant work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Valid Class-1/Class-5 Truck driver’s licence with a clean driving record or equivalent overseas Driver’s License.
• A valid Forklift Licence and Dangerous Goods Licence are preferred.
• Flexible availability, with the ability to commence work as early as 4:30 AM.
• Flexible to work on day and night shifts with weekend availability on rostered shifts
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Must be able to pass a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy items when required.
• Reliable, hardworking, and motivated individual with a positive attitude.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00 – $35.00 per hour
