A Trucking Coordinator oversees and manages the movement of goods via trucks, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries. This role involves coordinating shipments, scheduling drivers, tracking progress, and communicating with various stakeholders to resolve any transportation issues. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining accurate records of transportation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and Dispatching: Coordinating and scheduling shipments, assigning drivers, and managing routes to optimize delivery times.
- Tracking and Monitoring: Monitoring the progress of shipments, providing real-time updates to clients and stakeholders, and addressing any delays or issues that arise.
- Communication: Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, clients, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations and address any concerns.
- Compliance: Ensuring all transportation activities adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Documentation: Preparing and maintaining necessary documentation for shipments, such as bills of lading and customs paperwork.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving any transportation-related issues, such as delays, equipment malfunctions, or unexpected circumstances.
- Reporting: Preparing reports on transportation activities, performance metrics, and any relevant data to track efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining positive relationships with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. With a Bachelor's Degree in any course.
2. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and coordinate complex transportation operations.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with various parties and resolve issues efficiently.
4. Ability to identify and resolve transportation-related issues, think critically, and adapt to changing situations.
5. Proficiency in using transportation management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software.
6. Understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
7. Prior experience in logistics, transportation coordination, or a related field is often preferred.
8. Acts as the central point of contact for all trucking-related activities, ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods while maintaining compliance and cost-effectiveness.
