The Role – Turnover Engineer
The role of Turnover Engineer, reporting the Quality Manager, is responsible for managing and coordinating the preparation, review, and delivery of mechanical system handover packages in line with client specifications. The role involves overseeing system boundaries and handover priorities, compiling traceability documentation (welding, materials, inspections), and ensuring all turnover records are complete and compliant before submission.
The Turnover Engineer will act as a key liaison between project teams, quality management, attending regular turnover meetings and maintaining a live system status tracker. The Turnover Engineer also leads coordination meetings, manages technical clerks, and drives the closure of review comments to ensure timely system handover.
Typical tasks include but are not limited to the following:
- Compiling Mechanical system handover packages in agreement with Client specifications.
- Ensuring all Project Engineers are familiar with system limits and priority of handover and deliverables.
- Liaison with Client's Certification Department on the method and content of Handover Packages.
- Co-ordinating the inflow of welding, material, and inspection traceability records
- Attendance at twice weekly Client Turnover meetings to report system status.
- Maintain a “Live” System Turnover status tracker.
- Chair meetings to communicate and co-ordinate the turnover status requirements.
- Carry out document review of all system handover packages prior to submission to Client.
- Co-ordinate the closure of turnover record review comments
- Management of technical clerks under his/her direct control.
- Liaise with the Project Manager & Quality Manger on status of handover packages.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
- Accountable, someone who take ownership of tasks from beginning to end.
- Organised person who can self-prioritise work.
- Decisive, able to make decisions while lacking some information.
- Able to positively influence others to support shared goals.
- Logically minded, able to understand and make associations between basic technical requirements.
Person Specification
Education, Training & Experience
- Desirable for applicant to have degree in Quality Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in Life Sciences Industry
- Effective communicator
- IT literate
Competencies:
- Diligent, has a high level of attention to detail, and sets a high standard of quality for themselves and others.
- Strong reporting skills
- Computer literate (advanced user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred)
- Strong Communicator, written and verbal.
- Team player with the ability to develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Hard working and able to work in fast paced work environment.
