Union Kitchen - Barback

Union Kitchen, in West Hartford, CT, is looking for a barback to join our team. This position is for weekend availability - Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights. The right person should be passionate about hospitality and great food and beverage done right. Union Kitchen, a part of the Bean Restaurant Group family of restaurants, is a Wine Spectator Award winning restaurant serving New American cuisine. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional experiences.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain the cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas.

• Coordinate with bartenders, kitchen staff, and management on food and beverage orders to ensure sufficient service to customers. Communicate with customers on status of orders.

• Prepare and maintain bar stock, including liquors, beers, wine coolers, glassware and ice.

• Keep the bar stocked with garnishes, syrups, glasses, napkins and all other necessary items before and during service hours.

  
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for food

• A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn

• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

• Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time

• Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
