Role Overview
We’re seeking a skilled UPS Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic service team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become fully trained and certified on Vertiv’s industry-leading UPS systems. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our clients, ensuring uptime and reliability across mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Maintenance Execution: Lead and coordinate assigned projects and preventive maintenance activities, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality standards, and adherence to budget.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong rapport with clients, providing expert technical support and recommendations.
- Service Excellence: Respond to service calls professionally and promptly, performing startups, maintenance, and emergency repairs on UPS, battery systems, power distribution, and monitoring equipment.
- Compliance & Safety: Follow all ISO 9001:2000 processes and current Health & Safety legislation. Ensure accurate documentation including timesheets and service reports.
- Team Collaboration: Share insights and best practices with colleagues, contribute to lead generation, and support continuous improvement across the service team.
- Flexibility: Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota and be available for occasional night/weekend work and travel, including international assignments.
Qualifications & Skills
- HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in field service or testing of electrical/electronic equipment (UPS or related industries preferred).
- Strong technical understanding of UPS topology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Valid, clean driving license.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting in line with safety guidelines.
