Shelter Outreach Services of Ohio (SOS of Ohio) is looking for dedicated and skilled High-Volume High-Quality Spay/Neuter (HVHQSN) Veterinarians to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. As a non-profit organization committed to providing exceptional care regardless of income, we are passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of pets and families in our community. Our reputation and unique approach to care allow us to provide high-quality veterinary services, and we need compassionate veterinarians to help us continue this important work.
We perform over 7,500 spay/neuter surgeries annually at our east side clinic and manage the intake, medical care, and surgeries for 15,000 dogs annually at the Franklin County Dog Shelter (FCDS). Since opening in 2009, we’ve performed over 150,000 surgeries, and we partner with Columbus State Community College (CSCC) and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine (OSU CVM) on teaching and training programs.
What You'll Do
- Perform high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries for shelter animals and pets in the community.
- Help manage intake, medical care, and surgical services for 15,000 dogs annually at FCDS.
- Provide medical treatment and oversight for shelter dogs, ensuring the highest level of care.
- Maintain accurate medical records of diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Work collaboratively with our medical team, support staff, and partners to maintain our excellent standards of care.
What We’re Looking For
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree with a valid Ohio veterinary license (or ability to obtain).
- At least 2 years of clinical experience, with strong surgical skills and experience in high-volume spay/neuter preferred.
- Ability to handle a high-volume of exams and surgeries in a fast-paced environment.
