Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Assistant/ Receptionist to join our dedicated AAHA accredited team. As the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while ensuring smooth operations within the veterinary clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff.

Duties

• Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic’s calendar efficiently.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed.
• Process payments and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with administrative tasks as required.
• Manage inventory of supplies and ensure the reception area is tidy and organized.
• Provide information on laboratory services and assist in coordinating lab tests when necessary.

Requirements

• Education in veterinary technology or related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with a friendly demeanor towards clients and pets.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling and record keeping.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining professionalism at all times.
