About the Role:
Our Veterinary Assistants are key members of the team — often the first and last faces our clients see. You’ll be responsible for ensuring each patient and their owner receives compassionate, professional, and timely care.
Responsibilities Include:
- Greeting clients and ensuring a positive experience
- Booking appointments, surgeries, and patient drop-offs
- Assisting with animal restraint during exams and procedures
- Processing lab samples and submitting requisitions to IDEXX
- Preparing for surgeries and assisting during procedures
- Dispensing medication under veterinarian instructions
- Charting vitals and monitoring patients during recovery
- Handling payments, insurance claims, and invoicing
- Maintaining accurate electronic medical records (paperless system)
- Answering phones and handling client communications
- Cleaning and sterilizing rooms, kennels, surgical instruments
- Preparing surgical packs and maintaining supply stock
- Supporting the team with administrative and reception duties
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinic is MANDATORY
- Graduate of a veterinary assistant program (preferred)
- Experience with Ezyvet software is an asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate, calm under pressure, and able to multitask
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Scheduling Details:
- Early Shifts begin between 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Evening shifts available (Reception closes at 9:30 p.m.)
- Weekday, evening, and weekend availability is required
- Hospital hours may adjust based on operational needs

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
