Virtual Orton-Gillingham Tutors

The Spectrum School for Individualized Learning is a tutoring company that specializes in serving students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences. We are looking for experienced teachers who can support students with learning differences who need extra support outside of school.

We are looking for experienced educators to join our team as part-time Learning Specialists. Learning Specialists will work with students 1-1 over zoom, mostly during after-school hours.

Successful candidates will have the following required qualifications.

• Training and experience teaching an Orton-Gillingham or a structured literacy based program to grades K-5.
• Certification in Orton Gillingham or an Orton Gillingham-based method that included a supervised practicum, or CERI certification. (Strongly preferred)
• Experience doing reading, writing, and math intervention for K-8 is also preferred, but not required.
• Training and experience specific to working with students with Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism, and strategies to support neurodiverse students.
• Excellence at building warm, communicative relationships with students and parents.
• The ability to create unique lesson plans for each student based on their specific needs.
• Availability to teach between 2 and 6 45- 60-minute sessions per week between 3 and 6pm on weekdays. Occasional daytime hours may be available.
• Availability to commit to the position for at least 2 years.
