About Emergency department and VPIC service
The Emergency Department services approximately 85,000 patients per year, about 20% of whom are paediatric patients and consists of the Austin Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit and Toxicology services.
The VPIC provides advice to the Victorian Public and to health care providers about what to do if a person has been poisoned, has overdosed, has made a mistake with medicines or has been bitten/stung by a snake, spider, bee, wasp or other creature.
We also provide statewide toxicology guidelines for health professionals
About the role
The VPIC Administration Assistant provides support to the Director, Toxicology Department, including the Austin Clinical Toxicology Services and the Victorian Poisons Information Centre (VPIC) within the Emergency Department.
A regular day will see you:
- Diary management for Director, Toxicology
- Provide administrative support to the Director and VPIC team
- Submitting Medical recruitment and variation requests in Success Factors
- Filing journal articles within the Toxicology document library system
About you
As the VPIC Administration Assistant, You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to
excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring with you:
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Proven ability to use initiative and work without direct supervision
- Ability to problem solve and is solutions focused
