Job Description:
- Transaction Processing:
- Accurately handle all guest transactions, including cash, credit, and electronic payments, using the POS system.
- Ensure that all charges are accurate and that any promotions or discounts are applied correctly.
- Maintain a balanced cash drawer, and perform accurate opening and closing reconciliation.
- Customer Service:
- Greet guests warmly, providing a positive and welcoming first impression.
- Assist guests with inquiries regarding menu items, pricing, products, and provide knowledgeable recommendations if needed.
- Address guest concerns or direct them to the appropriate team member, ensuring a high standard of service.
- Order Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with the serving and kitchen staff to confirm order details and ensure timely service.
- Coordinate take-out and to-go orders, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging according to standards.
- Handle any special requests or modifications as needed, keeping clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Cash Handling and Reporting:
- Follow proper cash handling procedures, including counting the drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Prepare daily sales reports and balance cash receipts, submitting accurate records to management.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of cash and payment information at all times.
- Display and Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about menu offerings, including seasonal items, new products, and special promotions.
- Assist with product displays at the cashier station, ensuring they are tidy and well-presented.
- Upsell products, such as pastries, gift items, and beverages, enhancing the guest experience.
- Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:
- Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies such as receipt paper, bags, and utensils.
- Perform regular cleaning and sanitizing of the cashier station, following health and safety guidelines.
- Restock any display items or materials as needed, ensuring an attractive and organized checkout area.
- Collaboration and Team Support:
- Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience.
- Assist with light service duties if needed, especially during peak times, to support team efficiency.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
