Permanent full-time Warehouse Assistants are required in Auckland to support busy warehouse operations. Duties include receiving and checking stock, container de-vanning, RF scanning, picking, packing, dispatching orders, inventory control, and garment preparation to presentation standards. The role involves manual handling up to 20 kg, operating warehouse equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness, and following health, safety, and biosecurity procedures. One year’s experience is required.
We require permanent, full-time, Warehouse Assistants to join our busy team in Auckland.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Receive incoming stock and returns, including unloading containers and checking goods against delivery documentation for accuracy and damage
- Receipt and de-van containers using RF scanners in accordance with warehouse procedures
- Pick, pack and despatch customer orders accurately using RF scanning systems
- Label, sort and put away stock into designated storage locations within the warehouse
- Operate RF scanners and warehouse computer systems to record stock movements and maintain inventory accuracy
- Perform regular cycle counts and participate in full stocktakes as required
- Pack, fold, steam and/or iron garments neatly and to a high presentation standard prior to despatch
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, stock pickers and forklifts (where licensed) in a safe and responsible manner
- Move goods manually and with equipment, including repetitive lifting of items weighing up to 20 kg
- Assist with the organisation and cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring work areas are kept tidy and free of hazards at all times
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, including manual handling procedures
- Follow biosecurity and MPI-related processes where applicable
- Carry out general warehouse duties and provide operational support to other team members as required
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- At least 1 years’ relevant/transferrable experience, including experience using RF scanners and inventory systems
- Excellent understanding of health and safety requirements in a warehouse setting (knowledge will be tested at interview)
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling and repetitive lifting up to 20 kg
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow processes accurately
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
- Forklift licence and stock picker experience would be advantageous
- Willing to undergo pre-employment, and random drug testing as the role involves working with heavy machinery and equipment
- Clear police record
Pay rate:
Start $24 per hour depending on experience.
Hours:
As this is a full-time position, you will be guaranteed a minimum 30 hours per week but will likely be required to work approximately 40 to 50 hours per week.
