Workday Integration Lead – Job Description
Summary
The Workday Integration Lead is responsible for architecting, designing, building, and supporting complex Workday integrations across HCM, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Absence, Time Tracking, and other modules. This role ensures seamless data flow between Workday and third-party systems, drives integration best practices, leads technical teams, and collaborates with business stakeholders to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Architecture & Development
- Lead the design and development of complex Workday integrations using:
- Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST), PECI/PICOF, DT, Cloud Connect, RaaS, Workday Extend.
- Architect reusable integration frameworks, error-handling processes, and scalable integration solutions.
- Build inbound and outbound integrations for HR, Finance, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Recruiting, Time & Absence, and Compensation.
- Manage integrations across HRIS ecosystem including payroll providers, benefit carriers, finance systems, ATS, LMS, background check vendors, and identity management systems.
- Ensure adherence to Workday integration best practices, security policies, and data privacy requirements.Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Serve as the technical lead for Workday integration projects and enhancements.
- Mentor integration developers on Workday Studio, EIB, and API best practices.
- Own the end-to-end delivery lifecycle including scoping, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and support.
- Partner with Workday functional leads to understand business requirements and translate them into technical integration solutions.
- Oversee integration testing (unit, system, regression, UAT) and ensure high-quality delivery.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration failures, performance bottlenecks, and data discrepancies.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term preventive solutions.
- Maintain integration dashboards, logs, error queues, and monitoring frameworks.
- Provide L2/L3 support for global Workday integrations across multiple time zones.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of Workday integration experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- Workday Studio
- EIB (inbound/outbound)
- Core Connectors (Payroll, Benefits, HR, CCD)
- Workday Web Services (REST/SOAP)
- RaaS (Reports-as-a-Service)
- PECI/PICOF
- XSLT, XML, JSON, XSD
- Workday Extend (Plus)
- Solid experience with Python, Java, or other scripting languages.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM/FIN data models and business processes.
- Experience leading global teams and multi-phase integration projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and DevOps CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sidney, OH 45365
