Job Summary
As a Workforce Coordinator and become an integral part of our bustling operations team at Sydney Airport, comprising over 300 members. In this role, you'll ensure the smooth and efficient allocation of our workforce resources, with a primary focus on monitoring and evaluating key work drivers such as flight schedules to adjust workforce allocations accurately, ensuring safe and sufficient coverage of shifts. This exciting position calls for a candidate who is highly organized, dedicated, and possesses strong administrative and problem-solving skills.
Your activities
- Review and plan rosters up to 72 hours in advance, ensuring effective coverage based on key work drivers such as schedules, load factors, and baggage/freight loads.
- Coordinate and monitor daily resources, allocating tasks to ensure coverage of off-schedule flights, bay changes, and disruption events.
- Collaborate with Duty Managers, Supervisors, and other key staff to keep the team informed of plans and operational activities.
- Create and update allocation sheets to reflect initial and updated plans, and communicate these to the workforce.
- Develop and publish aircraft towing plans.
- Provide ad-hoc coverage for resource shortages through reallocation of available resources, call-ins, or additional hours allocation.
- Manage fatigue principles, work patterns, qualifications/experience, and leave effectively.
- Review timesheets for accuracy and prepare reports on manpower usage, roster variances, challenges, and coverage issues.
- Continuously identify the most efficient and safe ways to cover work and meet service objectives proactively.
- Aviation ground handling experience, preferably with knowledge of workforce planning or allocation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks and computer software/system usage, including email, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with peers.
- Effective planning, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative and motivation.
