Business Data Analyst

Position Summary

Sybest LLC is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to support a multi-year government contract. The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting data to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, analytics tools, and presenting actionable insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Collection and Preparation
• Collect and clean datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including legacy systems, to create unified datasets.
• Conduct data quality assessments to identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors.
• Data Analysis and Reporting
• Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that align with project objectives.
• Develop visual dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.
• Support decision-making processes by delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
• Compliance and Standards
• Ensure all data analysis activities comply with regulatory standards, including data privacy and security requirements.
• Maintain documentation for data processes, including methodologies, findings, and compliance records.
• Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with project team members, including the Project Manager and Business Process Improvement Consultant, to align data activities with project goals.
• Present data findings to stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner, using visualizations and summaries.
• Participate in workshops and meetings to gather input and refine data-related deliverables.
• Process Optimization and Innovation
• Support the optimization of data workflows by identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
• Research and apply innovative techniques or tools to enhance data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis or a related role.
• Proven expertise in using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and analytics platforms.
• Experience working with government or public-sector projects is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of data integration, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting data insights to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Work Environment and Tools

• Remote-first role supported by collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Zoom.
• Access to secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) for handling sensitive data.
• High-performance computing resources for data analysis and visualization.

Key Deliverables

• Cleaned and integrated datasets for use in project activities.
• Comprehensive dashboards and reports aligned with project objectives and regulatory standards.
• Documentation of data processes, including methodologies and compliance records.
• Final presentation summarizing key findings, trends, and actionable recommendations.
