About the Team
Fitch’s International Public Finance (IPF) team in APAC offers a supportive and inclusive culture with the opportunity to work alongside some of the leading credit analysts from around the world. In this highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to assign and monitor credit ratings of public sector entities, subnational governments and their debt instruments across the APAC region, along with a number of learning opportunities to support your growth within the organisation, and flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle and help you succeed in your career.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Take analytical responsibility for assigning and monitoring credit ratings for public entities in a number of Asia-Pacific countries within IPF’s coverage, including Singapore, South Korea and India. Your strong analytical experience will enable you to identify key credit themes to deliver quality outputs internally and externally within deadlines.
- Monitor news and financial result releases to identify events or trends which may have credit rating implications or require the publication of written comments.
- Present and discuss rating recommendations, ideas, and facts effectively in writing and verbally to rating committees.
- Take a leading role in meetings with executives and high-level government officials.
- Effectively write and publish comprehensive rating reports and thematic research on debt issuers or sectors under your coverage.
- Represent Fitch to external stakeholders, such as presenting our rating criteria and rating approach with issuers, bankers and investors. You will have regular interaction with a range of fixed income market participants and the media so must possess high level communication and presentation skills and professionalism.
- Ensure all work is compliant with policies, procedures and regulations.
- Be available to travel within the APAC region.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- You have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a financial or credit analytical role within a financial services firm, ideally with exposure to the public finance sector, although analysts with experience in other sectors will also be considered.
- You are fluent in English and Korean, both verbal and written, which is a core requirement for the role.
- You are degree educated, ideally within Finance, Accounting, Economics or Public Finance, with an advanced understanding of financial and credit concepts.
- You have excellent attention to detail, an analytical mindset, proficiency with Excel and financial modelling, as well as a comprehensive understanding of complex capital structures and financial documentation. This will be supported by your excellent writing and communication skills and your ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- You are reliable and act with integrity.
