Ecommerce Director

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Required to work 1 weekend per week based on business needs and campaign schedules
  • Due to the nature of ecommerce operations, candidate must be responsive and available beyond standard working hours to oversee marketplace operations, customer escalations, campaigns, and urgent business matters when required

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly driven and commercially focused Ecommerce Director to lead and manage the company’s overall ecommerce business across Shopee, Lazada, and the company’s official ecommerce website.

The Ecommerce Director will be responsible for the full end-to-end ecommerce strategy, revenue growth, profitability, digital marketing performance, marketplace operations, customer experience, and team leadership. This role requires strong marketplace expertise, hands-on operational management, and the ability to scale online sales while maintaining brand integrity and operational excellence.

The candidate will oversee day-to-day ecommerce operations supported by a team of assistants and cross-functional departments.

Key ResponsibilitiesEcommerce Business & P&L Management

  • Take full ownership of ecommerce sales performance and profitability across Shopee, Lazada, and company website
  • Develop and execute ecommerce growth strategies to increase revenue, market share, and profitability
  • Manage ecommerce budgets, forecasting, pricing strategy, promotional planning, and campaign performance
  • Monitor daily sales, margins, advertising spend, and operational KPIs

Marketplace Management (Shopee & Lazada)

  • Lead and optimize all marketplace operations including:
  • Product listings
  • Campaign participation
  • Pricing strategy
  • Flash sales
  • Sponsored ads
  • Store performance
  • Customer ratings and reviews
  • Ensure strong brand presence and consistency across all marketplaces
  • Drive marketplace growth while maintaining pricing and brand integrity
  • Manage platform relationships with Shopee and Lazada account managers

Website & Omnichannel Management

  • Oversee the management and performance of the company ecommerce website
  • Improve website user experience (UX), conversion rate, and customer journey
  • Coordinate online and offline integration initiatives including inventory visibility and omnichannel fulfillment
  • Ensure website merchandising, promotions, and content are updated accurately and timely

Digital Marketing & Customer Acquisition

  • Lead digital marketing strategies including:
  • Paid advertising
  • SEO/SEM
  • Social commerce
  • CRM and retention marketing
  • Email marketing
  • Affiliate campaigns
  • Optimize Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and customer acquisition performance
  • Analyze traffic, conversion funnels, and customer behavior to improve sales performance

Operations & Customer Experience

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day ecommerce operations including order fulfillment, inventory coordination, logistics, and after-sales support
  • Maintain high customer service standards and ensure prompt response to customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations
  • Due to the 24/7 nature of ecommerce operations, candidate must be responsive and accountable for urgent operational matters outside standard working hours when necessary
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure operational efficiency

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, manage, and mentor ecommerce assistants and cross-functional teams
  • Delegate operational responsibilities while maintaining overall accountability for business performance
  • Build SOPs, workflows, and reporting structures for ecommerce operations
  • Conduct performance reviews and develop team capabilities

Technology & Vendor Management

  • Evaluate and improve ecommerce tools, platforms, payment gateways, and operational systems
  • Manage third-party vendors including logistics partners, developers, and digital agencies
  • Recommend technology enhancements to improve efficiency and customer experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Ecommerce, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 5–8 years of ecommerce management experience with strong exposure to Shopee and Lazada
  • Proven experience managing ecommerce P&L and scaling online sales
  • Strong knowledge of marketplace operations, digital marketing, ecommerce analytics, and customer acquisition
  • Experience managing ecommerce websites (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or similar platforms)
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
  • Willing to work beyond normal office hours when business operations require
