Position Summary:
As part of UCSF’s Multitudes project, the Field Researcher supports data collection and coordination efforts across public school districts in California. Reporting to a Field Research Supervisor, this position involves working collaboratively with school districts, research teams, and project stakeholders to implement study protocols effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Coordination:
- Conducts elementary school screenings for reading difficulties and ensures adherence to research protocols at assigned field sites.
- Assists in coordinating field research logistics, including procurement, scheduling, and compliance.
- Supports the refinement of study protocols and operational procedures.
- Researches and obtains necessary approvals for operations across site locations.
- Maintains accurate study logs and reports to ensure compliance and tracking of research activities.

Please note: An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training/experience.
- Knowledge of research principles and field research operations.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with project teams and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with safety, cultural, and regulatory considerations for field research.
- Understanding of local operations and customs at remote research sites.
