SERAC Biosciences AG is looking for a Research Associate in vitro and cellular compound profiling in Targeted Protein Degradation.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support both routine research activities and more in-depth profiling studies by performing cell-based and biochemical/biophysical studies to assist with the identification, validation, prioritization and benchmarking of small molecule protein degraders.
- Perform a wide variety of medium- to high-throughput profiling workflows with cell-based and biochemical formats.
- Streamline operation and processes using semi- or full automation to meet timelines and team objectives.
- Independently design, conduct, and summarize data for key experiments to progress projects. Troubleshoot and implement solutions when required.
- Maintain thorough documentation and written records of experimental and data in lab notebooks and communicate results in a clear/concise manner in internal meetings.
- Contribute to laboratory general organization and maintenance, manage laboratory stocks and ordering.
- Ensure compliance with good laboratory practices including safety regulations, data management, data recording in electronic notebooks and archiving.
- Keen interest in understanding the current literature surrounding TPD and specific targets of interest.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in biology/cell-biology (focus on small molecule profiling), biochemistry/biophysics/biotechnology (with cell-biology experience), or related field. This position is not suitable for PhD level or above.
- Or laboratory apprenticeship with 2+ years relevant drug discovery experience in biotech or pharma.
- Experience with basic techniques related to biochemistry, biophysics and small molecule handling required, e.g. FP, TSA, SPR.
- Experience with basic techniques related to mammalian cell-culture and assays required, e.g. BRET, Western Blot, ELISA, IP.
- Experience with FACS considered a plus.
- Working experience in targeted protein degradation (molecular glue, PROTACs and related) considered a plus.
- Must be able to work well in a highly collaborative team-oriented environment. Capable of thriving and multi-tasking in a fast-paced “start-up” environment.
- Self-motivated, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication skills are required for this position.
- Proficiency in utilizing general and specialized software such as Microsoft office, Prism, ELN etc., for data analysis and figure generation.
- Fluency in English required.
