Waste Treatment Operator

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

The Waste Treatment Operator is responsible for ensuring that the wastes are processed according to Sierra Circuits’ standards as directed by the city ordinances.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Waste Treatment Operator:

• Treat wastewater coming from all sources by following proper procedures.
• Regularly discharge treated wastewater after periodically checking the copper and pH of the water.
• Be available to unload deliveries of chemicals and properly store them in their respective containments.
• Follow procedures by thoroughly rinsing the chemical drums and any contaminated containers before cutting them up or moving them to storage.
• Maintain cleanliness of the chemical storage area and waste treatment floor at all times.
• Properly press sludge, dry it and dump it into the designated bin.
• Track and record any abnormalities in the treatment log book.
• Immediately report any potential problems that may affect the process, cause unnecessary downtime, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:

• Experience and knowledge of chemicals is preferred
• Meet assigned work schedule and flexibility as needed
• Ability to follow work procedures and processes
• Ability to take directions from supervisor/manager
• Meet and follow safety policies and wear all required “Personal Protected Equipment”

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.

California Salary Range: $19 to $22 per hour including benefit perks
