What You’ll Do


Serves as a key support to the Controller and CFO, ensuring seamless financial operations. Acts as a liaison between healthcare center teams and third-party Medicare/insurance billing services to facilitate accurate and efficient communication.


Arcadia Retirement Residence

  • Call-In (Work less than 20 hours per week); No set schedule; Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Pay Range

  • $23.00 to $32.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

  • Supports management of Medicare/Insurance Receivables
    • Identifies all accounts requiring Medicare / insurance billing, re-billing and secondary filing.
    • Imports/inputs the related charges into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
    • Reviews and scans any information received from insurance companies and brings any issues to the attention of the Controller.
    • Maintains correspondence with third-party biller including, but not limited to: receives payment remittances, scans and submits any correspondence received at the community, invoices provided by vendors, facilitates the resolution of any questions asked or issues raised.
    • Prepares and sends out draft Part A and Part B claims for Arcadia and Craigside for review by the teams.
  • Accounting
    • Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations.
    • Prepares and posts monthly journal entries to post in general ledger.
    • Reconciles Arcadia and Craigside procard accounts and posts necessary entries into General Ledger system (GL) and charges into EMR.
    • Prepares and posts daily deposits for Arcadia and Craigside and weekly deposits for TAF, AES, AHHS, AAH, ADC and HOKA.
      • Posts payments as needed into the EMR.
    • Prepares and posts monthly ACH batches in EMR.
    • Performs edeposit (electronic deposit) of batches weekly and as needed.
    • Prepares and sends out private pay billings for HOKA and follows up regarding outstanding private pay balances.
    • Assists with preparation of work papers for annual audits.
    • Assists with annual financial update for residents and members.
    • Prepares financial statements and reports for the Craigside Residents’ Association as needed.
    • Provides coverage/ additional support to accounts payable accountant and accounts receivable accountant.
Qualifications

  • Understanding of accrual basis of accounting.
  • Ability to analyze general ledger accounts and prepare detailed schedules, utilizing computer software such as Excel.
  • Ability to prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new accounting skills and techniques.
Education/Experience

Associate’s degree in Accounting, one to two years related accounting experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, includes, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with Vision software is helpful. Ability to adapt to new medical technology as required.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
