Cable Installer

Job Description

• Install and route structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fibre optic, etc.) in both new and existing buildings.
• Carry out cable pulling, dressing, termination, and labelling in line with industry best practices.
• Support electrical isolation and basic electrical works when required, under the supervision or approval of an EMA-licensed electrician.
• Test, inspect, and troubleshoot cabling systems using appropriate testing tools and equipment.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ensure all installations comply with quality standards, safety requirements, and relevant regulatory guidelines (including EMA regulations where applicable).
• Work closely with team members, contractors, and project managers to meet project timelines.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe and good working condition.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including installation records and test results.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in cabling, cable installation, or a related technical role is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) is a plus.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work, including lifting equipment.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Able to use hand and power tools such as drills, cable testers, and termination tools (training provided if required).
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Possession of an EMA Electrical Worker Licence (e.g. Electrical Technician Licence) is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to different work sites are an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $2,500.00 - $3,200.00 per month
