ABOUT THE ROLE

We are launching a modern café concept in Singapore featuring Western breakfast, bakery & pastry offerings along with selected multi-cuisine (including Indian fusion elements).

We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and strong culinary leader who can not only execute high-quality food but also lead and manage a kitchen team effectively.

The ideal candidate should bring creativity, consistency, operational discipline, and strong communication skills to build a premium café experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and execute Western breakfast menu items
  • Handle bakery & pastry production (cakes, desserts, baked goods)
  • Develop fusion menu items (Western + Indian concepts)
  • Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
  • Manage food costing, portion control, and kitchen profitability
  • Ensure inventory control, ordering, and waste management
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety standards (Singapore compliance-ready)
  • Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff
  • Plan kitchen workflow and shift operations
  • Contribute to signature dish creation and menu innovation

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong expertise in Western breakfast cuisine
  • Hands-on experience in bakery & pastry production
  • Basic to good knowledge of Indian cuisine
  • Café-style plating and modern presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of food costing and kitchen operations
  • Experience in inventory and supplier management
  • Creative approach to menu development
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural kitchen environment

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 4–7 years of culinary experience
  • Experience in cafés, hotels, or bakery/pastry kitchens preferred
  • Prior exposure to multi-cuisine or fusion concepts is an advantage
  • Experience in kitchen supervision or team leadership preferred
  • Strong background in menu development is highly desirable
