Dental Technician

Dental Technician (3D Printing Focus)

Summary:

The Employee shall be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and output quality of 3D printing and related dental fabrication processes, ensuring accuracy, durability, and efficiency in production.

Key Responsibilities:

1. 3D Printing & Fabrication:

· Operate 3D printers, curing units, and related lab equipment.

· Prepare and process digital files for accurate printing.

· Fabricate models, aligners, retainers, and other appliances through proper 3D printing workflows.

2. Post-Processing & Quality Control:

· Conduct finishing, curing, and adjustments on printed outputs.

· Inspect products to ensure accuracy and compliance with treatment prescriptions.

· Implement corrections of errors or defects needed.

3. Material & Equipment Handling:

· Safely handle resins, polymers, and other dental printing materials.

· Maintain and troubleshoot 3D printers and associated equipment.

· Track inventory of consumables and request replenishment when needed.

4. Collaboration & Workflow Management:

· Work closely with designers and dentists to ensure outputs match specifications.

· Follow agreed production timelines and coordinate on urgent cases.

5. Compliance & Safety

· Adhere to safety protocols in handling materials and equipment.

Observe clinic policies, confidentiality, and quality standards in all outputs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:Education & Certification:

• Diploma or degree in Dental Technology, Dental Laboratory Science, or a related field.
• Certification in 3D dental printing or CAD/CAM technology is a plus.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a dental laboratory or similar setting preferred.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, digital scanning, and orthodontic appliances is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Exocad, 3Shape, Meshmixer, BlueSky Bio, or DAD Software.
• Skilled in operating 3D printers, milling machines, and laser sintering technology.
• In-depth knowledge of dental materials, including resins, zirconia, and biocompatible polymers.

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with dentists, orthodontists, and lab team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining high productivity.
