The Role
The Key Account Manager is accountable for shaping and executing customer relationship strategies across a portfolio of key accounts. This role suits either a technically grounded professional (for example, a Mining Engineer with commercial exposure) OR a commercially experienced key account professional with the ability to develop strong technical understanding. In both cases, strong financial acumen is essential.
As the primary commercial interface for customers, you will ensure Dyno Nobel understands customer needs, translates them into actionable internal priorities, and consistently delivers against contractual, commercial and service commitments. You will work closely with customers, operations, supply chain, finance and technical teams to drive customer value, improve forecast accuracy and strengthen long‑term partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
Acting as the key commercial contact for assigned customers, owning relationships across site and head office
Translating customer requirements into clear internal priorities to ensure delivery across operations and supply chain
Managing commercial performance, contracts, variations and renewals within delegated authority
Applying strong financial and commercial analysis to support decision‑making and customer proposals
Driving improved forecast accuracy to support manufacturing and supply planning
Identifying and executing opportunities to expand customer value across assigned accounts
Please note this role will involve some travel.
What you’ll bring
You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high‑performance culture
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, Commerce, Finance or related field
Strong customer orientation with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments
Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen, including experience with financial modelling and analysis
Technical exposure within mining or mining services or commercial / key account experience with the ability to develop technical understanding
