The yard and delivery team at Beyond Curb Appeal work together to provide knowledgeable, friendly service to customers, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate deck package deliver and pick up of material in a fast paced, busy environment.

This schedule for this position is Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly 8am to 5pm.

What You Will Achieve In This Role

The Delivery Driver will be responsible for efficiently and safely delivering deck package to customers, picking up product from suppliers and assisting with loading and unloading materials, building customer orders, maintaining coordination and open communication for a high functioning yard, providing support where needed. The ideal candidate will be a hard worker who is reliable, efficient, and safety-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a delivery truck to transport lumber and decking materials to various customer locations and Beyond Curb Appeal construction sites.
  • Load and unload materials onto the truck using a tilt deck, other equipment, or manually when needed.
  • Ensure that all materials are securely strapped and properly loaded to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Plan delivery routes to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
  • Follow traffic laws and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the delivery truck and report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery receipts, invoices, and customer signatures.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to organize and prioritize deliveries.
  • Clean up job sites and pick up extra materials where needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License and clean drivers abstract with proven experience previously driving a commercial vehicle.
  • Experience as a truck driver with comfort driving an F750 with a 22' tilt deck, preferably in the lumber or construction materials delivery.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic law.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is an asset, but not required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate delivery of materials.
  • Ability to courteously interact with customers.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on a regular basis. We have equipment to reduce the need for manual lifting on most orders, however physical ability to load and unload materials and handle heavy objects is necessary.
  • Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week

Additional pay:

  • Calgary, AB T2G 1Y4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Commercial driving: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Class 5 Licence with clean drivers abstract (required)
