Position Description

As a Machine Operator for SNB equipment (Shearing, Notching, Bending) to produce precision sheet-metal components for heating and cooling systems. Ensure parts meet print specifications, quality standard, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and mark sheet metal according to the drawings;
  • Shear, notch, cut, bend, punch different types of metal;
  • Operate metalworking machines such as Accushear, Variable Angle Notching Machine, Schroder Panel Bender, and Prima Power Bending; and
  • Maintain records of consumption documents.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of material gauges.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, diagrams, and blueprints.
  • General understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, cut lists and sheet metal principles.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Must have the mechanical aptitude required to learn and operate all aspects of machinery.
  • Must have basic computer and math skills with ability read ruler.
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Lifting of materials or components periodically up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • May be exposed to noisy environment (ear protection may be required).
  • May have to lift, bend, and be exposed to continuous periods of standing.
