PROJECT WORKER – SUPPORT & ADVOCACY
Fixed Term Full-Time Contract
Applications are invited for the position of a Project Worker with the Support & Advocacy Team.
As part of the Good Shepherd Cork, the Support & Advocacy team support families and single women as they move from emergency accommodation into their own homes. The Project Worker will provide a range of support to families and single women who have experienced homelessness or who are vulnerable to homelessness.
This is an ideal opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and women as they transition into independent living.
The position is based within the Support & Advocacy Team, Henry Street, Cork. This is a full-time, fixed-term contract commencing 25th May 2026 to cover maternity leave.
It will involve working 39 hours per week, Monday- Friday, and may involve some out of hours work.
Role and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Management Team in Support & Advocacy, the successful candidate will:
- Build trusting relationships with clients and encourage engagement with the service
- Provide client-centered emotional and practical support to families and single women in the community
- Manage and prioritise own caseload with flexibility and initiative
- Maintain accurate records of client contact
- Work collaboratively as part of a small, dynamic team
- Work with clients across a range of settings including client homes and other relevant venues
- Adhere to organisational policies, including Health & Safety and Child Protection guidelines
Essential Requirements
· Candidates must hold a third level qualification in social care, social work, youth & community work, or related discipline.
· A minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience
- A professional, caring, and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable adults, children, and families
- Possess a full driver’s licence and have access to their own transport
- Commitment to the vision, mission and values of Good Shepherd Cork
