Job Summary

To perform processing and Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Quality Control (QC) checks for all routine laboratory testing including classification, total stress and effective stress tests performed to BS1377, ISO and ASTM standards. To assist in the raw data input and reporting of advanced test methods. To assist with QA checking of other staff’s work.

Working together with the Team Leader and other QAQC Engineers to ensure workload is efficiently prioritised across all projects and all data are presented to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

1. QAQC activity

Process and QAQC check classification, total stress and effective stress test results performed to BS1377, ASTM and ISO standards. Assist in the raw data input and reporting of advanced test methods. Check the work of other QAQC Engineers

2. Digital Deliverables

Produce AGS 4.0 data files, ASCII data etc.

3. QHSSE

Help in maintaining accreditation of the laboratory and promote good QAQC practices

4. Administration

Record keeping and related day-to-day administration tasks to assist the department

About you

• Preferably Degree in Geotechnical / Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience in handling datasets. Experience in geotechnical laboratory testing (desired)
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills. Competent use of email
• Excellent IT skills particularly in modifying and using MS excel spreadsheets with embedded macros.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment
