Restaurant Manager – Atticus Finch
Location: Rotorua

Pay Rate: $30–$35 per hour
Hours: 30 hours per week

Atticus Finch, a well-established and vibrant dining destination, is seeking a motivated Restaurant Manager to join our team.


About the Role

As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations of our restaurant, ensuring outstanding service, team leadership, and operational efficiency. You’ll oversee staff performance, customer satisfaction, inventory control, and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and high service standards.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Manage reservations, floor plans, and table allocations to optimise flow and maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain restaurant cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver consistently outstanding service.
  • Undertake recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Promote teamwork and open communication between kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Ensure all guests receive attentive, professional, and friendly service.
  • Resolve any customer issues or complaints efficiently and professionally.
  • Monitor budgets, sales, and cost targets to drive profitability.
  • Oversee inventory control, ordering, and supplier management to ensure adequate stock and cost efficiency.
  • Developing and implementing promotional activities to increase sales.
  • Ensure all operations comply with company policies, food safety standards, and health and safety legislation.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality industry may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised, with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for hospitality, customer service, and creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
