Senior Technical Project Manager

Senior Technical Project Manager

Role Summary

Toyota Tsusho Mobility Informatics is a dynamic SaaS provider in the automotive and telematics industry. We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of our technical projects in Singapore. In this role, you will drive projects from initiation through deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to build cutting-edge IoT and mobility solutions. (Note: Prior automotive industry experience is not required – we value your project management expertise and technical acumen.)

Responsibilities

  • Project Ownership: Lead the full lifecycle of software and IoT projects from requirements gathering to release, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Technical Coordination: Work closely with developers and engineers, following up on technical tasks in detail (beyond just tracking tickets) to clarify requirements, resolve blockers, and maintain progress.
  • Agile Management: Plan sprints, coordinate daily stand-ups and other Scrum ceremonies, and utilize project management tools (JIRA, Confluence) to track work, document decisions, and manage backlogs.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Actively participate in team meetings and technical discussions, translating complex ideas between engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders. Provide clear, concise project status reports and updates to ensure everyone stays informed.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify potential risks, dependencies, or roadblocks. Develop mitigation plans and drive issue resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA and development teams to uphold high quality standards. Ensure that deliverables meet functional requirements and comply with security and performance criteria.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience (5+ years) managing complex technical projects in a software development or SaaS environment. Strong track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with cloud and IoT technologies – especially AWS (and multi-cloud environments), containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and connected device systems. Ability to understand modern tech stacks (e.g. backend with Golang, frontend with React, mobile app development) and engage in technical discussions.
  • Project Management Skills: Hands-on knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and use of project management and documentation tools like JIRA and Confluence. Exceptional organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to lead meetings, negotiate scope with stakeholders, and motivate development teams. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Project management certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or SAFe Practitioner are a plus (but not mandatory).
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience in the automotive, telematics, or IoT industry is advantageous. Similarly, exposure to both startup environments and large corporate settings is beneficial, as our culture blends fast-paced innovation with Toyota’s corporate rigor.
  • Technical Background: Prior hands-on experience in software development or infrastructure engineering is a bonus, enabling deeper insight into the projects you will manage.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary with performance-based bonuses and annual increments.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical benefits and paid leave to support your well-being.
  • Flexibility: Flexible work hours and the possibility of remote work or hybrid arrangements. We trust you to get the job done in the environment where you work best.
  • Growth Opportunities: Professional development support, training programs, and a clear career progression path in a growing team.
  • Global Exposure: Work in a multicultural team on innovative IoT and mobility projects that have global impact. Being part of the Toyota family, gaining the stability of a renowned corporation with the excitement of a startup-like venture.
  • Relocation Support: Role based in Singapore. For eligible candidates, relocation assistance and Employment Pass (work visa) sponsorship are available.
