About Us
We build premium custom cabinets, closets, mantels, hidden bookcases, and other cabinetry for top builders and remodelers in the San Antonio area. We’re entering our next phase of growth and need a hands-on operations leader who raises the bar on throughput, quality, and consistency—not someone seeking status quo.
Role Summary
Own the daily operation of the cabinet shop—machining, assembly, staging, and shipping—and lead the people, processes, and metrics that drive results. You will scale velocity, capacity, and on-time delivery while protecting our high-end quality standards. This is a floor-first role with strong planning, coaching, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Production & Scheduling
- Build and run the master shop schedule; balance labor, machines, and materials to hit dates.
- Set daily/weekly goals, manage WIP, and remove bottlenecks to keep work flowing.
- Coordinate with PMs, Purchasing, and Install to align production runs, delivery, and install windows.
Process & Quality
- Implement/maintain standard work (SOPs) from cut list to final pack.
- Lead gating QC at each department to reduce rework and warranty issues.
- Drive first-pass yield and defect reduction via root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
People & Safety
- Lead, coach, and cross-train a team of cabinet craftsmen; set clear expectations.
- Promote a safety-first culture (PPE, hearing/eye protection, material handling).
- Recruit, onboard, and performance-manage; recognize top performance and address gaps quickly.
Equipment, Materials & Readiness
- Oversee CNC routers, edgebanders, case clamps, boring/dowel machines, and small tools; coordinate PMs and repairs.
- Ensure material readiness (panels, hardwoods, veneers, finishes, hardware) and prep jobs for smooth handoffs.
- Partner with Finishing to collaborate on project lifecycle and timeline management.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years leading production in cabinetry/millwork or closely related custom manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of framed, frameless, inset construction; hardware systems; finishing basics.
- Comfortable on the floor with CNC, edgebander, case clamp, production operations (not necessarily a programmer, but fluent).
- Strong scheduling/coordination across departments and vendors; data-driven decision making.
- Able to read blueprints/shop drawings, verify specs, and hold teams accountable to standards.
- Excellent communication; steady under pressure; hands-on leader who teaches by example.
Nice to Have
- Experience with barcode inventory and basic cost tracking.
- Exposure to Mozaik/Cabinet Vision.

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
