Responsible for the day-to-day management of the SoftwareOne Business Development Managers (field sales staff) within an assigned region.
Lead the team responsible for sales in a territory.
Responsible for driving sales of a broad range of publisher products SoftwareOne represents.
Consistent track record of successful sales or sales management of high performing sales teams, outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a complex, team environment.
Grow SoftwareOne’s business by exercising strong sales and leadership skills, and by leveraging all available resources necessary to be successful.
Manage 8 - 10 direct report Business Development Managers.
Work with but does not directly manage other internal resources necessary to facilitate the sales cycle
Assess the market; develop, drive & maintain a sales business plan for SoftwareOne’s success; deliver revenue targets; and provide accurate, weekly forecasts to management
Hire, manage and retain SoftwareOne Business Development Managers within the area and work with SoftwareOne Organizational Development Director to develop the development, training and skills of hired personnel
Proactively communicate SoftwareOne’s strategy, value proposition and competitive positioning to customers, partners, prospects, media, and analysts.
Demonstrate solution selling approach
Work with SoftwareOne’s partners to improve indirect revenue
Achieve license revenue targets
Understand the SoftwareOne’s strategic direction and be able to communicate it effectively to customers and partners
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the SoftwareOne’s solution set and value proposition and ensure this knowledge is transferred to all relevant constituents
Perform sales management tasks (forecasting, account planning) regularly/punctually
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experience in managing sales of publisher products to mid-market customers both directly and indirectly
- Balanced sales involving sales and solution skills, product knowledge, problem solving
- 8-10 years IT proven experience with technology sales leadership background
- Outstanding communication skills both written and spoken
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Customer focus and ability to build long lasting customer and partner relationships
- Consultative selling experience, able to position solutions at an executive level
- Self-motivator with the ability to work independently
