Job Description

The Position

Department Summary:

At Genentech US Medical Affairs (USMA), we focus on broadening opportunities for patient access to medicines by ensuring health care stakeholders have the evidence they need on our products and the confidence in that evidence to make informed treatment decisions. As a key pillar in the broader Genentech organization, USMA has a pivotal role in bridging internal partner functions (including Research, Product Development, Commercial, and Genentech Public Policy & Access) and collaborating across the dynamic health ecosystem to ultimately deliver better patient outcomes while making care more accessible and affordable for all.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on site. Could include travel to various conferences/congresses.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitation of cross-functional team meetings

  • Management of congress planning resources

  • Project management of key congress activities (medical booth exhibit, medical receptions/meetings, customer engagements, trainings, etc.) in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Assist in gathering insights and key learnings to share with appropriate teams

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 9-12 months, full time (up to 40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in September 2023.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

  • Final presentations of project work to senior leaders.

  • Lead or participate in intern committees to design and coordinate program events and initiatives.

  • Professional & personal development curriculum throughout the program, including networking opportunities, workshops, and panel discussions.

  • Participate in volunteer projects, social events, and team-building activities.

Who You Are:

  • Any Degree Level. Undergraduates who have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework at a university, current graduate students (MS or PhD) who are available to work full time for the duration of the internship, or recent grads (within 2 years of receiving their last degree).

Preferred majors:

Science; Health IT; pharmaceutical marketing and management; healthcare systems, biology, chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical marketing, etc

Other Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions: Integrity, Courage, and Passion.

  • Interest in HCP scientific exchange; pharmaceutical marketing; analytics; patient impact.

  • High level of organizational skills

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of California is $21.00 - $50.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
