- Guaranteed 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, closed on Statutory Holidays

Position Summary
In your role as a Summer Educator with London Bridge, you will be part of a team of highly skilled and passionate
Educators providing care and education for children. This valuable role supports permanent educators to take a break and focus on their personal well-being and provides you with an opportunity to put into practice what you are learning in school. Throughout the summer, you will support the needs of the centre, children and families. This will look different in different centres and requires you to be flexible and adaptive as it may require you to be in multiple classrooms during your time. To support you in your growth journey you will be assigned a mentor to assist you who can support you as you gain knowledge and practical practice. You will also be able to participate in professional learning at the centre and organizationally to develop an understanding of our culture and pedagogical practices. You will have opportunities to help plan and implement emergent curriculum, and facilitate learning experiences for children.
Responsibilities
- Develop positive relationships with children, families, and educators
- Prioritize the safety of children by maintaining constant supervision and following ratio protocols
- Work with others to plan curriculum and begin to document children’s learning
- Observe and implement an emergent curriculum by fostering and nurturing child-led learning experiences that
support the safety, health, and holistic well-being of children - Seek to understand children’s diverse needs and abilities and provide an inclusive program within a community
based practice - Respond to all personal care needs of children throughout the day (e.g. diapering, toileting, meal gatherings, rest time, transition times, etc.)
- Perform a range of administrative functions, such as documenting children’s attendance, maintaining daily charts and medication logs, and accident reports as skills are developed
- Comprehend and adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), health and safety guidelines, the OHSA, and London Bridge policies and procedures
- Attend professional learning and engage in reflective conversations alongside colleagues to create an inclusive
and nurturing environment for all children
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled or recent graduate (April 2026) from the Early Childhood Education program or other postsecondary programs
- Experience working with children, including those with diverse needs, is considered an asset
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing environments
- Ability to take initiative while demonstrating a strong image of children, colleagues and families
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work with diverse communities with respect, sensitively, creatively, innovation, and cultural
understanding - Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last 6 months
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (WSIB approved)
- Immunizations Records (Tetanus Toxoid and Rubella)
