Academic Support Officer

The Academic Support Officer will provide professional and efficient support to the Department Chairs and academic staff within the school, working under the general direction of the Manager, Academic and Research Services.

Key responsibilities include providing administrative support to Department Chairs, ensuring academic staff compliance with School and University processes, and identifying opportunities to streamline procedures for improved efficiency.

This role also plays a critical part in managing the administrative requirements for sessional staff engagement and other operational tasks essential to the school’s activities.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated high level of confidential detailed administrative support to senior management
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills and the ability to manage competing and conflicting deadlines
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to review and evaluate systems to ensure continuous efficient office management
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, oral and written, particularly as they relate to maintenance of relationships with a diverse range of multiple communication networks and channels with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications
Completion of a degree without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of an associate diploma and subsequent relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
