Reporting to senior management, this role will performs a range of general clerical, accounting and bookkeeping support functions as well as administrative support.
Some of the accounting functions will be as follows: Processing accounts payable including verifying purchase orders. Posting using Sage Simply Accounting. Processing timesheets and pays and benefits under collective agreements. Generating reports and processing union remittances. Filing. Vendor communications. Assisting with daily purchasing and PO tracking. Other accounting and office duties as required.
Other duties will include answering phones, document management, spreadsheets, email and general correspondence as well as any other office related duties as required.
Ideal candidate: Must be able to work in a small office setting and be versatile, flexible and have a strong work ethic. Must be task oriented and self motivated. Critical to have attention to detail and work with accuracy, efficiency and consistency. Must be organized and have effective professional oral and written communication skills and a positive attitude.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years experience in clerical accounting
- Proficient with MS Office and accounting software
- Experience in a construction environment an asset
- Excellent communication skills a must
