eSafety's purpose is to help safeguard Australians at risk from online harms and to promote safer, more positive online experiences.
eSafety leads and co-ordinates the online safety efforts across Commonwealth departments, authorities and agencies and engages with key online safety stakeholders. It has a broad remit which includes administering complaint schemes and the creation of audience-specific content and programs to help educate all Australians about online safety.
The Safer Communities team is responsible for delivering a wide range of programs and projects to support adults most at risk of online harm, such as First Nations adults, adults from the LGBTIQ+ community, culturally diverse audiences, adults with cognitive disability and older Australians. The team also works on programs to reach these at-risk audiences through upskilling organisations and those on the frontline, such as sports administrators and athletes.
We are looking for a Senior Advisor to drive eSafety’s strategic direction and stakeholder engagement to support the sporting sector.
The role is responsible for ensuring eSafety’s support for the Australian sport sector is targeted, effective, and keeping pace with emerging technologies and online safety trends.
This will include building key relationships across various peak bodies, organisations and communities, ensuring existing and new eSafety resources meet the diverse online safety needs of the sector; and promoting online safety best practice for sport across both government and non-governmental organisations.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, reliable, engaging, and flexible individual with a proven track record of working in, or closely with, government entities, advocacy bodies and sporting organisations to deliver tangible outcomes to support sporting entities and participants to have safer online experiences.
You will enjoy a challenge, take initiative to implement solutions, be passionate about making a difference and be willing to work collaboratively and flexibly in an evolving and fast-paced environment.
In return, you will be looking to join a dynamic and growing government organisation that delivers real impact with considerable scope for career development.
Full details of the position, and information about how you can apply, are provided in the candidate pack.
To be eligible for employment with eSafety, applicants must be Australian citizens.
