Allergy Medical Assistant

Are you a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) looking to build a strong foundation for a career in medical care or allied health fields?

We are an allergy & asthma clinic near White Oak / Fairland Maryland, and we’re looking to add a dedicated teammate who is looking for a home to grow. Every member of our team is cross-trained for full coverage of our patients’ needs.

You will be trained to the highest standards and gain the confidence to grow. You must be able to complete training on the job and achieve satisfactory performance within the first 90 days.

REQUIREMENTS

· MUST have certification as a CMA, CCMA, or RMA

· MUST have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program

· BLS Certification

· Familiarity with EMR systems and medical terminology

· Attention to detail

· Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office

· Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Strong organizational skills

RESPONSIBILITIES
The position involves clinical and administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to those described below.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record vital signs
  • Collect/record patient history
  • Perform spirometry and allergy testing
  • Assist with food/drug allergy challenges
  • Administer injections
  • Assist with nebulizer treatments and other treatments under clinical supervision
  • Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations
  • Clean and restock supplies and equipment

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Answer telephones and triage messages
  • Schedule appointments
  • Data entry
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits coverage
  • Patient check-in and check-out procedures
  • Create a customer-friendly environment

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
