Analysis Intern (Sgbc/Caac)

Work Location

This internship is based in Geneva on a full-time basis, and the internship modality is in-person or remote. The specific modalities may be discussed and mutually agreed upon by the managers and the selected candidate(s).

Expected duration

Full-time (40 hours per week) for 3-6 months, with desired start date of May 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

The internship is located in the Collection, Analysis and Sharing Section (CASS) within the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM), Geneva, Switzerland. The interns will work under the supervision of a Legal Officer, Investigator or Analyst within CASS. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with legal officers, investigators, and analysts in CASS specializing in the investigation of Sexual and Gender based Crimes (SGBC) and Crimes Against and Affecting Children (CAAC). The duties of the intern may include, but are not limited to, conducting research, reviewing documentation, and preparing analyses on various issues relating to SGBC, CAAC, and gender and intersectional analysis relevant to the situation in Myanmar; contributing to the preparation of briefing papers, reports including incident reports and investigation plans, and/or public information materials and population of databases related to SGBC, CAAC, and gender and intersectional analysis; assisting in the compilation and review of information, documentation and evidence relating to SGBC, CAAC, and gender and intersectional analysis; proof- reading, summarizing, translating when relevant and editing documents; and drafting meeting records. Interns may be engaging with and be exposed to materials with violent imagery and distressing subject matters.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a enrolled in the final year of a first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent), or in an advanced university degree (Master’s or PhD Pprogramme or equivalent), or must have completed a university degree maximum one year before the date of their application.
