Job description

We're looking for an experienced attorney to join our Bettr business unit and play a key role in shaping the legal framework for our tokenisation initiatives, FX and treasury services, and innovative financial products. You'll be at the forefront of developing credit technology-backed financial solutions that serve internal business units across multiple markets.

Job Scope

  • Provide primary legal support and advice on cross-border legal and regulatory matters, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and conducting legal analysis

  • Lead legal support for tokenisation projects, liquidity management technology, FX, and related financial products across multiple product lines

  • Partner closely with the compliance team to identify, assess, and manage regulatory and compliance risks

  • Collaborate with legal experts across various jurisdictions on financial regulatory matters, data privacy, intellectual property, and tax issues

  • Support internal review and approval processes for new strategic initiatives and product launches

  • Manage external legal counsel relationships effectively and efficiently

  • Escalate issues appropriately and work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality legal solutions

Job Requirement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in law from England, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, or a similar common law jurisdiction

  • Minimum 6 years PQE (post-qualification experience)

  • Substantial experience in financial services; blockchain and/or derivatives experience is a strong plus

  • Training at a top-tier international law firm, substantial in-house experience in banking or financial regulatory businesses

  • Strong regulatory and compliance knowledge specific to the financial sector

  • Excellent technical, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills coupled with practical commercial acumen

- Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) - required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking counterparts across Greater China offices and support cross-border regulatory matters.

  • Team player, highly motivated self-starter, eager learner with excellent project management skills
