BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate all engineering activities associated with the APKWS – International Segment of the Aviation Weapons Portfolio of programs. This position will require the candidate to be well versed in Semi Active Laser technology, as well as display excellent communications skills. The candidate will support the APKWS – International Program Manager through coordination and overall communications with the baseline APKWS Program, perform technical planning, develop the appropriate Technical Assistance Agreements that will be delivered through our Export Control leadership, as well as preparation for the appropriate APKWS International Test activities. The candidate will also support the development of verifiable requirements and compliance matrix files for the Foreign Military Sales segment of APKWS, and will generate overall system test strategies, along with associated documentation to include system verification plans and procedures. The successful candidate will ensure that appropriate facilities and test equipment needed for system level testing are planned and made available at the appropriate scheduled time. Coordination across engineering disciplines will be a major aspect of the duties for this position.

Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Semi-Active Laser Systems
- Understanding and background in RF/EO/IR systems architecture, modeling, design and test for guidance and navigation systems
- Experience with planning and conducting field test events at US Government Test Facilities
- Familiarity with low cost and low SWaP design and development
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience in DASAL Technology and Laser Guided Munitions
- Ability to Coordinate vendors and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation
- Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software
- Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities
- Experience leading technical teams
- Ability to understand and generate CONOPS
- Develop requirements in response to customer operational needs and mature operational concepts, and derive technical baselines necessary to meet the requirements

- Experience working across the entire Systems Lifecycle
