Key Responsibilities
General
- Investigate and address discrepancy between fixed asset register and inventory subledgers with general ledger
- Oversee and support fixed asset and inventory accounting operations to ensure compliance with company policy
- Lead and coach fixed asset and inventory executive’s professional development
- Implement, document and maintain internal controls and systems to improve reporting accuracy
- Handle queries from internal and external auditors
Inventory
- Perform month end closing and prepare all related journal entries
- Perform checks and analyse inventory reports from multiple warehouses
- Participate in stocktake exercise
- Partner closely with various business units within the Company such as, Purchasing Team, Warehouse & Logistics team and Sales Managers to review, analyse, and implement standards that directly impact inventory accounting
- Participate in implementation of new ERP system, Dynamics 365
Fixed Assets
- Process vendors' invoices promptly and manage the capital expenditure control and capital spend approval process
- Review fixed assets WIP for appropriateness and closure
- Maintain the Right of Use ledger
- Maintain proper accounting procedure (including required reconciliations) over control of fixed asset acquisition and disposal
- Coordinate, tag and track all fixed assets from initial purchase, receipt, delivery, and assignment to personnel and physical locations, including transfers and disposals, in accordance with the established policies and procedures
- Provide support for system testing and to respective Business Units, accountants.
- Assist in the update of internal fixed assets standard operating procedures and recommend process improvements
- Manage monthly/quarterly/yearly closing and reporting of fixed asset
Key Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least CA, ACCA, Degree or Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or equivalent
- 2-3 years’ experience in inventory and fixed asset management and accounting
- Experience with MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Navision, Dynamics 365
- Possess good work attitude, reliable and team player
- Has previous experience handling high volume transactions
- Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Able to work over weekend for quarterly/yearly stocktake
