Assistant Manager/Supervisor

Full Job Description Main purpose of the role:

As an Assistant Manager / Supervisor, you will support the daily operations of the store while leading by example. You will ensure excellent customer service, maintain high store standards, and assist in guiding and motivating the team. Your role is to help create a positive, efficient, and customer-focused environment.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Experience working in a supervisory or managerial role
• Experience in a retail or delicatessen environment (preferred)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to engage with customers and support the team in prioritising customer needs
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Capable of using own initiative and supporting the team in a fast-paced environment
• A customer-driven approach with a passion for service excellence
• Previous customer service experience is essential

Main duties:

• Support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store
• Lead, motivate, and guide team members to deliver an excellent shopping experience
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently, professionally, and in line with store policy
• Supervise staff performance and provide coaching or feedback when required
• Oversee merchandising, stock rotation, and ensure all areas of the store are presented to the highest standard
• Assist with opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store security
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety guidelines, and food hygiene standards (if applicable)
• Engage with new initiatives and actively support continuous improvement and new ways of working

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From €14.50 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Naas, County Kildare: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

• Grocery/Convenience Store: 1 year (required)
• Delicatessen : 1 year (preferred)

Work authorisation:

• Ireland (required)
