Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the daily operations of our retail location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing store functions, and ensuring sales targets are met while maintaining a positive shopping environment. Bilingual abilities and prior retail management experience are highly valued to effectively serve diverse customer needs and lead a motivated team.

Duties

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and sales strategies.
  • Supervise and motivate store staff, providing training and development to enhance team performance.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Manage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee POS transactions, pricing adjustments, and purchasing activities to optimize profitability.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts to attract qualified candidates and participate in interviewing processes.
  • Develop marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase foot traffic.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store standards.
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory control, and administrative duties to support overall store management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or supervisory roles within a retail environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred for serving diverse customers.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, merchandising software, and basic bookkeeping or accounting practices.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, marketing, training & development, and sales management.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform math calculations with precision.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and administrative tasks.
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new staff members.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently under pressure.
  • Knowledge of retail pricing strategies, budgeting processes, and promotional activities is advantageous.
