Associate Director International Fp&A

Cytokinetics is a late-stage, specialty cardiovascular biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class muscle activators and next-in-class muscle inhibitors as potential treatments for debilitating diseases in which cardiac muscle performance is compromised. The Associate Director International FP&A reports to the Head of International Finance and serves as an integral member of the International Finance team. The position will have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the US-based FP&A team. The role serves as a key advisor to the EU Heads of Functions (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, G&A, Supply Chain, and Quality) and contributes to the organization's development and achievement of strategic goals. Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning / Resource Allocation and Optimization

  • Act as a key advisor to the Heads of Functions within the International region to drive results aligned with corporate strategy and goals.
  • Develop and implement forward-looking financial analytics to provide insights into operations and business plans.
  • Maintain continuous communication with the Head of Finance International and Sr. Director FP&A Global Supply Chain / Tech Ops regarding critical issues.
  • Provide day-to-day finance support for the Ireland supply chain operations site, including analysis of global manufacturing contracts, purchase orders, and headcount reporting.
  • Support annual budget, quarterly forecast, and long-range planning processes for supply chain and operations-related cost structures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget and forecast process for all relevant functions.
  • Prepare regular reporting packages and presentations for senior management highlighting financial performance and risks.
  • Support long-range planning activities.
  • Manage quarter-end and year-end accruals, consolidation, and reporting of quarterly financials.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis between forecast, budget, and actual results, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across the International region.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.
  • Participate in or lead special projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Team Development / Leadership

  • Lead by example and communicate effectively across functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 8–10 years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry.
  • Experience directly supporting senior Commercial and Manufacturing executives.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, accounting, and cost accounting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively as both a tactical and strategic thinker.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and planning tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
