Haider Khan Legal P.C. (“the Firm”), located in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a qualified lawyer to join our team. This position is intended for a relatively experienced lawyer capable of independently managing case files on a full-time basis. Applicants must possess a combination of experience in Canadian Civil, Family, and Estates law, with demonstrable proficiency in at least two of these practice areas. The anticipated commencement date of employment is March 1, 2025, or as soon as practicable. Although the position requires in-person attendance, physical presence in the office is not mandatory on court days.
For a lawyer with two to three years of post-call work experience in the specified practice areas, the Firm is offering a compensation package that includes:
- A base salary of $83,500.00 per annum
- Target of 1,200 billable hours annually.
- A bonus equal to fifteen percent (15%) of the total revenue derived from billable hours in excess of 1,000 within a fiscal year of employment.
- Additional benefits comprising:
- Two weeks of paid vacation (or an equivalent of 4% of salary);
- Relocation assistance, provided it is warranted and appropriate;
- Coverage of LSO Annual Fees;
- Percentage Coverage of the LawPro Annual Premium; and
- Dedicated support staff to assist with files and administrative duties.
Note: Applicants with greater experience may be extended a salary commensurate with their qualifications, while those with less experience may receive an adjusted compensation package.
Required Qualifications/Responsibilites
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrated ability to manage case files independently without supervision.
- Proficiency in conducting initial consultations with potential clients in a manner that is skilled, compassionate, and persuasive.
- Current eligibility to accept—or be near eligibility to accept—Legal Aid Certificates in Family Law matters (mandatory requirement).
- Possession of a valid L1 License (mandatory requirement).
- A minimum of two to three years of post-call work experience in Ontario, specifically within the areas of Civil, Family, and Estates law.
- Highly organized with a proven ability to take initiative, prioritize, multitask, and exhibit a strong desire for professional growth.
- Meticulous attention to detail coupled with the flexibility to accommodate variable work demands.
- Consistent demonstration of sound judgment and the utmost professionalism, particularly under pressure.
