Job Title: Baker

Location: Spa Road & Rifle Range Road, Taupo

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (30-40 hours per week)

Hourly Rate: $27.00 – $35.00

We are two busy bakery cafes located in Taupo and we operate from 5:00 am to 15:30 pm from Monday to Sunday. Due to our business growth, we are currently looking for two bakers to join our busy team and share our workload.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Prepare and bake a wide variety of baked goods including pastries, cakes, pies, and bread.
• Make pastry and fillings from scratch
• Inspect and clean baking equipment and ensure food safety compliance
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately
• Operate baking machinery and monitor baking times and temperatures
• Decorate baked goods with icing and glazes
• Maintain cleanliness and stock levels in the bakery
• Perform basic machinery maintenance and end-of-day clean-up
• Perform other reasonable duties on request.

The successful applicant shall:

• Have 2 years or more work experience in a bakery, café, or related industry, or
• Hold a New Zealand Level 4 qualification or above in baking
• Be willing to work early shift, long hours and weekend shifts (Between 4:00 PM and 12:00 AM midnight, 7 days a week on a rotating roster)
• Have a clean criminal record
• Pass a drug test
• Be well organized and able to multi-task
• Be responsible, reliable, and hardworking
